The Global Aluminum Casting Market covers aluminum components made by melting aluminum and aluminum alloys and casting them into shape. The main processes are die casting (high-pressure, low-pressure, vacuum and gravity), sand casting, permanent mold casting, investment casting and centrifugal casting. Cast aluminum is used widely in automotive and transportation, aerospace and defense, industrial equipment, electrical and electronics, building and construction, consumer goods and energy, where light, corrosion-resistant parts are needed.

Market Definition

Aluminum casting is a group of manufacturing processes in which molten aluminum or aluminum alloy is poured or injected into a mold. The metal cools and solidifies into the shape of the cavity, giving a finished or near-net-shape component. It is widely used to make complex, lightweight parts with high dimensional accuracy. Key Die Casting Routes Source: Rockman Industries ↗
High-Pressure Die Casting (HPDC)
Molten aluminum is injected into a steel die at pressures of up to 1,500 bar. Suited to thin-walled, high-volume parts.
Low-Pressure Die Casting (LPDC)
Low air pressure pushes metal up from a furnace below into the die under automated control, giving good metal quality for wheels and structural parts.
Gravity Die Casting (GDC)
Gravity alone fills a reusable metal mold. Used for cylinder heads and medium-volume, high-integrity parts.

North American localisation
Ryobi invested US$50 million to expand its Irapuato, Mexico plant (completed April 2025). Martinrea bought Lyseon North America's Tulsa assets in October 2025.
Trade and cost pressure
Martinrea kept its 2026 outlook after the April 2026 Section 232 tariff changes on aluminum. USMCA-compliant auto parts remain exempt.

▲ Supply tightness (bullish)
Middle East disruption: GCC production fell 44% year on year in July. The region supplies about 10% of global output.
▼ Supply recovery (bearish)
Smelters are restarting idled capacity, and China's aluminum exports rose 17.2% year on year in August.
▼ Stronger US dollar (bearish)
Hawkish Federal Reserve comments lifted the dollar, making dollar-priced metal dearer for global buyers.
Impact on the aluminum casting market: Prices about 22% higher than a year ago raise raw-material costs for foundries and die casters. Suppliers with metal-price pass-through clauses and a high share of secondary (recycled) alloy are best protected. A forecast rise to about USD 3,516 per tonne over 12 months points to continued cost pressure and a stronger case for recycled and low-carbon casting alloys.
