Culture media remain the foundation of microbiological analysis: the substrates on which organisms are grown, isolated, enumerated and identified across clinical diagnostics, pharmaceutical quality control, food and beverage safety, water and environmental testing, and veterinary laboratories. Despite four decades of molecular and mass-spectrometry innovation, culture remains the reference method for susceptibility testing, sterility assurance and regulatory food and water methods — which is why demand continues to compound rather than decline.
